Notes for meeting at HP in Palo Alto on Wednesday 2/16/05 in the Sigma Conference Room in Building 1. Peter Markstein hosted us. David Hough, Jim Thomas & Dan Zuras attended. Eric Schwartz, Mike Cowlishaw were on the phone. We started with draft review of 2/15 11:45. Both Mike & Eric felt it was OK to consider conversions to larger formats to be non-roundable (formerly, non-arithmetic) operations that would have the flexibility of not paying attention to NaNs or non- canonical declets in decimal. Jim felt strongly that we should not introduce new flexibility to no good purpose. So we put wider conversions in the roundable catagory in spite of the fact that they never round. After much further debate we decided to change the name of the class from roundable (formerly, arithmetic) to computational & list them in table 5.0 Operations on page 47. We took a break at 3:10. After the break we continued with Annex Z (for the first time in draft review). And completed it for the first time.
